After the Expiration of the Mayan Calendar – is it the New Age?

So the end of the world didn’t happen as many predicted. Many a (anagram ) person thought the Mayans knew something we don’t but it certainly wasn’t the end of the calendar world.Mayan Calendar

They probably did know a number of things that have been lost in the sands of time.(love that phrase as it is really evocative) but about the end of the world……well we are still here and the descendants of the Mayan civilisation are probably using the calendars on their mobile phones and computers, just like the rest of us!

Checking into the Mayan history I discovered that the calendar did not actually originate with them but they did fully develop it  – along with writing and epigraphy too apparently!

Why the 21st December? It seems logical to me as the Mayan calendar was based on the Solar year and being the winter solstice on 21st of December that was the end of the year for them perhaps. The Calendar also may have ended on 2012 2012 2012 2012 which is actually: 20:00 hours 12 minutes 20 seconds 12 milliseconds on the 20th day & the month of 2012

We will probably never know but what is past is past it and what tomorrow brings we will never know as tomorrow never comes. So for the present let’s take the presents we are offered by the universe around us all of the year – not only at Christmas time, which is now upon us.

About travell1ngthroughl1fe

I am a fun-loving person who goes with the flow and travels through life most of the time though sometimes I have to be responsible when others try to get me on their track! Most of the time though people tell me I am barking mad! hahahaha! Life is short but oh so sweet so I believe in looking out for the bright side of life and I can always find a positive in everything! Half-empty glasses are not for me. Negativity is an ill I want to cure in everyone. Only after you heal your own soul can you help to really heal the world. So when you need help, ask for it and where it is offered, gratefully accept it as a gift.
