Don’t Poo Poo Phi Phi (the H is always silent) Don

A” trilling” experience

Well people had said “you will love it” and it is “the most beautiful island I ever saw” so when we were drawing close I was expecting pretty amazing or spectacular scenery so was disappointed as although it was a pretty view, I have seen many like it around the world and so I was almost not that bothered about getting off the boat to explore for 1 hour. And when I heard it is 20Baht just to visit – I thought – Ha – a tourist money-spinner!

How wrong was I though! Within half an hour of stepping onto the island and strolling about I felt an attraction like so many others. maybe the same attraction or maybe a different one, but definitely an attraction!

What this place did for ME within the shortest space of time was remind me of a number of places I have loved. As I walked along one after another memory of other islands dropped into my head –  I was reminded of Barbados, Hydra, Kos, Naxos, La Gomera, Malta, Bali, St Lucia, Ibiza, Poquerolles,  Manly – it was as if all the best parts of these islands were in one place.

I decided I should be there for longer and that it would be a place I could so easily live without worrying too much about what life would throw at me.

Unfortunately I had to get back on the boat after an hour as my “trip” had ended and I had not come prepared to pay for a room there that night. So sadly, I will have to leave it for a short while before I return again but I think that was a taster and am sure I WILL return and not alone either!

So now please do tell me Don, Peter, Jade, Selina, Chris, Heinz or whoever you are  – What is it that Phi Phi does for you? I now want to get YOUR impressions please?

About travell1ngthroughl1fe

I am a fun-loving person who goes with the flow and travels through life most of the time though sometimes I have to be responsible when others try to get me on their track! Most of the time though people tell me I am barking mad! hahahaha! Life is short but oh so sweet so I believe in looking out for the bright side of life and I can always find a positive in everything! Half-empty glasses are not for me. Negativity is an ill I want to cure in everyone. Only after you heal your own soul can you help to really heal the world. So when you need help, ask for it and where it is offered, gratefully accept it as a gift.
