Air Travel Observations

International flights usually supply pillows and blankets and this was also the case on my short domestic hop flight from Phuket to Bangkok.

So on the international leg from Bangkok to Mumbai I was expecting similar. However, Air India are not quite the airline that Thai Air are it seems!

On boarding, I think to myself that I will probably have a sleep so I could use a blanket. Asking the stewardess she says she will see if they have any! After about 20 minutes one stewardess passes by with 3 blankets and as I ask her for the third  – she says – OK that is the last one and hands it to me.

One thing Air India do offer however, is complementary drinks – on this flight I asked if they had any vodka and she told me no but they had gin. However, I decided to go for the whiskey coke. Later I thought a cold beer would be better to refresh me rather than another short, so asked for one of these but was told that they wouldn’t let people mix  their drinks so I had to stick with whiskey and coke! Crazy or what?

I am not knocking Air India – they were an OK flight and apparently they had a really bad reputation at one time but are now MUCH improved – so I wonder how they were before. I think a lot depends on who you get on crew a lot of the time as well as what time you fly also.

About travell1ngthroughl1fe

I am a fun-loving person who goes with the flow and travels through life most of the time though sometimes I have to be responsible when others try to get me on their track! Most of the time though people tell me I am barking mad! hahahaha! Life is short but oh so sweet so I believe in looking out for the bright side of life and I can always find a positive in everything! Half-empty glasses are not for me. Negativity is an ill I want to cure in everyone. Only after you heal your own soul can you help to really heal the world. So when you need help, ask for it and where it is offered, gratefully accept it as a gift.
