Ponds are formed from puddles; Fields turn into lakes;
Constant rain for one week is really all it takes
To turn the brown earth green and make the flowers bud:
The land’s transformed and seen as more than sand or mud.
And while it rains so heavily the ponds should turn to seas
But all this water is absorbed and soaked up by the trees:
Their roots drink of this deluge to transfuse their thirsty veins
So that they can grow another year after the monsoon rains.
